Who We are

We are a collective of dancers, musicians, artists, and community members, bringing to life the essence of Carnaval in our work. Through African Diaspora-infused artistic techniques, we provide opportunities for dancers to grow, connect with themselves, and learn the core elements of Brazilian dance.

SambaFunk! has performed at numerous special events including Oakland, San Francisco and Atlanta Carnivals, America’s Got Talent as well as the Presidential Kick Off Rally for Vice President elect Kamala Harris to name a few.

Our Mission

Their mission is to preserve and present African Diaspora Art & Culture to underserved communities of color. They aim to create new intersections of the Arts, Health & Wellness. They see their work as an essential element in the healing of the Nation.

As SambaFunk! has grown its community impact, we have also increased the key relationships that allow us to continue sharing our love for people and the FUNK! We are grateful for our Sponsors, Funders, Key Collaborators, and Visiting Artists who have helped us realize our vision over the years. Thank you for your love, support, and commitment to the Funk!
